The IIIT–IIUM Student Development and Support Programme is an initiative designed to cultivate a generation of Muslim scholars, educators, and leaders who embody academic excellence, spiritual discipline, and ethical integrity.
Through structured training, mentorship, and scholarship support, the programme advances IIIT’s global mission of reforming thought, knowledge, and education in alignment with the Qur’an and Sunnah.

2. Compulsory Components

a. Saturday Training Programme (Compulsory)

All IIIT-sponsored students must participate in the weekly Saturday Training Programme, which serves as the core developmental component of the scholarship.

The training focuses on four key dimensions:

  • Academic and Professional Development: Enhancing skills in research, writing, communication, and analytical thinking.
  • Akhlaq and Tazkiyah: Cultivating sincerity (ikhlas), self-discipline, humility, and moral excellence.
  • Management and Leadership: Building leadership capacity rooted in Islamic principles.
  • Integration of Knowledge: Promoting the synthesis between revealed (naqliyah) and acquired (‘aqliyyah) sciences.

b. Weekly Halaqah Programme (Compulsory)

Participation in the Weekly Halaqah is also mandatory.
Each halaqah follows a structured syllabus and schedule, and focuses on:

  • Tazkiyah (Purification of the Soul)
  • Tadabbur (Reflection on Qur’anic meanings)
  • Tafakkur (Contemplation and Intellectual Reflection)

The halaqah sessions aim to foster spiritual growth, ethical conduct, and reflective thinking, complementing the academic training component

An engaging platform for IIIT-sponsored students to publish reflective and intellectual writings on social, moral, and academic themes.
The magazine encourages creativity, analytical thinking, and collaborative intellectual expression.

  • Publishing research papers and academic articles.
  • Book writing, reviewing, and critical reading.

  • Book and scholastic materials support.
  • Monthly living stipend and settlement allowance upon arrival.

All funds provided under the IIIT scholarship are considered loans repayable after graduation, ensuring sustainability and the continued benefit of future students.

  • Grace Period: 24 months after graduation.
  • Repayment Rate: 10% of the graduate’s monthly income.
