Leadership Development Programs by IIIT and IIUM

The International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) and the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) have been actively promoting leadership grounded in Islamic values. Their joint leadership development programs aim to prepare students and professionals to become responsible, ethical, and visionary leaders who can contribute positively to society.

These programs combine both academic learning and practical experiences. Participants are introduced to the principles of leadership in Islam—such as shura (consultation), amanah (trust), justice, and service to others. They also take part in workshops, seminars, and group projects designed to strengthen teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

One of the notable initiatives is the Huffaz Sejahtera Leadership Programme, which helps students who have memorized the Qur’an (huffaz) to develop leadership qualities that reflect Islamic ethics. Similarly, IIUM’s Leadership and Management Course (CCLM) trains students to apply Islamic principles in modern management and leadership contexts.

Through these programs, IIIT and IIUM seek to cultivate leaders who can balance intellectual growth with moral integrity. The goal is to build a new generation of Muslim leaders who are competent, compassionate, and committed to advancing their communities in line with Islamic teachings
